Welcome to Our New Newsletter!

Updated: Feb 8, 2019

Thank you for all your support in 2018... It was definitely a big one for Radio Italia Uno!

The month of December especially, was full of changes as we moved from AM to acquiring our very own frequency 87.6 FM. With the year coming to a close on such a pivotal moment for our community, we are looking forward to a year of new possibilities. There are already some noteworthy changes, for example, our beautiful new logo, the launch this month of our updated website and this new newsletter to keep in touch with all of our supporters on a monthly basis.

This transition did not come without its challenges; when 1629 was sold we were unsure of what the future would hold for us but, behind the scenes, there are passionate people working long hours to see Radio Italia Uno succeed. The ownership of our own frequency will safeguard the radio and ensure its future. The new frequency 87.6FM is providing our community with a much better quality of sound and we are working hard to improve coverage in the metropolitan area. The numerous calls and enquiries from our listeners have served to reconfirm just how strong the bond is with our audience and reinforce our commitment to the community.

Likewise, our programmers have worked really hard and shown their love for live radio, which this past year offered over 30 different live shows every week, outside broadcasts and more.

In 2018 our hosted events, most recently our Christmas picnic, gave us the opportunity to catch up with our team as well as some of our supporters. There have been also many outside broadcasts at club and sponsor events that have been a great way to meet our listeners and reach out to the community.

In 2019 we will continue to build on Radio Italia Uno's platform, update and add to our current programs and explore further our online presence through podcasts and on-demand shows.  With this in mind, we hired new Content & Radio Producer  Sofia Torchia in December. This February Marta Markowska joined as our Sales & Marketing Manager and she comes with over a decade experience in community radio. Our team will also be growing further as we look for more volunteers to produce more quality shows. So if you think you or someone you know might be a right fit please get in touch! You can also find out more here on our website.

On a final note, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our sponsors and supporters of 2018 which are such a vital part of our journey. If you would like to show your support to Radio Italia Uno this year, please consider becoming a Friend of Radio Italia Uno. Yearly memberships are $50, these fees will help with the radio's expenses, ensuring our community radio can successfully progress into the future offering quality programs and music. You can find out how to become a supporter here. Alternatively, you can always call the radio's office at 08 8212 3177.

There will be more to come so please stay tuned and don't hesitate to get in touch.
